FIRST LEGO League is an international educational program that was launched in 1998 by the American foundation FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and LEGO. In Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, the program has been organized since 2002 by the non-profit organization HANDS on TECHNOLOGY e.V.

FIRST LEGO League offers long-term engagement and excitement for children and students through its three programs: Discover, Explore, and Challenge. Over several years, the program sustainably develops their skills in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), teamwork, and communication.

Join us!

In FIRST LEGO League Explore and Challenge, you can participate as a school team, class group, extracurricular group, or private team. Form your own team or decide together in class to take part. Registration for teams and classes opens annually at the end of April. The season officially begins in August with the release of the challenge tasks and the distribution of materials. Then it's time to build, program, and explore! At the end of the season, teams take part in an official FIRST LEGO League event, while classes host a school-based concluding event. For Preschools

FIRST LEGO League is now available for preschools and kindergardens! With FIRST LEGO League Discover, children aged 4 to 6 explore STEM topics through playful activities. They develop a foundational understanding of technology and science while enhancing their teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills. This early engagement lays the groundwork for a lifelong interest in STEM and helps children navigate a technology-driven world with confidence.
