At FIRST LEGO League, there is always a next event! Having just finished one season's participation, not only can teams look forward to the next season with another exciting topic – even directly after your regional tournaments and exhibitions, the fun may continue!

International Tournaments

While the best Explore and Challenge teams from the regions get to showcase their season accomplishments at the final for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the journey may continue for Challenge teams even after that:

The best teams from the final get the chance to participate in international tournaments, e.g. the FIRST Championship in Houston, USA, April 19–22, 2023.

Moreover, teams with extraordinary Research findings can apply for the FIRST Global Innovation Award.

As the season progresses, you will find more info on these and other international tournaments here!

Off-Season Mission and Challenge

If your Explore or Challenge team is still eager to tackle the season topic after your season participation, our Off-Season Mission and Challenge might just be the right thing for you!

Based on the Explore and Challenge Sets of the current season, you can complete all new tasks on the SUPERPOWERED topic and win attractive prizes in the process.

During the course of the season, you will find out more about this right here!

Forschung 2.0

At Research 2.0, we focus on the FIRST LEGO League Challenge category Research. With the help of experts from business and science, qualified challenge teams will have the opportunity to further develop their research idea after the regional tournament. The entries will be evaluated by a panel of experts. Selected teams receive several weeks of coaching during which they work intensively on their innovative solution. In addition, the students learn about process-oriented thinking and innovation methods.

Who can apply?

In the 2022/23 season, teams from North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse and Bavaria that have been nominated in the research category at the regional tournament and/or have qualified for a FIRST LEGO League Challenge qualifying tournament can apply. Teams will receive information about the application and deadlines by email.

If you have any questions about the project or the application, please contact Kristina Hagen.
