The BIOGLOW™ season takes teams on a journey through the fascinating ecosystems of our planet. At the center are the connections between nature, technology, and innovation.

Further details about the season challenges will follow with the official challenge release in August. From that point on, teams can begin developing their own creative solutions for the BIOGLOW missions.

Future Edition: Pricing Structure & Transition Bonus

With the 2026/27 season, the new FIRST LEGO League Future Edition is launching. It uses the new LEGO Education Computer Science & AI Sets and is designed for classroom teaching, after-school programs, and robotics clubs. At the same time, the familiar elements of FIRST LEGO League remain unchanged: research, building, programming, and teamwork.

New is the flexible pricing structure: program participation, season set, and event participation are booked separately. This allows groups to start without participating in an event and decide later whether they would like to join one.

Established Programs Continue: Explore & Challenge

In the 2026/27 season, the well-known FIRST LEGO League formats Explore and Challenge will continue as part of the Founders Edition. Both programs remain an important foundation of FIRST LEGO League across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. In the BIOGLOW season, all teams will explore the topic of biodiversity.

Look at the new theme!

At the FIRST Championship in Houston last week, the new FIRST LEGO League season theme was presented.

In BIOGLOW, the 2026/27 season will focus on biodiversity and the question of how technology, creativity, and research can help better understand and protect natural habitats. Children and young people will develop innovative ideas using STEM skills – inspired by nature itself.

Adjustment to season timeline: registration starts 19 May 2026

We are currently revising our registration process. Please note: the start of registration for the educational programme will be delayed by one week. From 19 May 2026, you can register your groups for the Explore, Challenge, and Future Edition 8+ programmes and also sign up for regional Founders and Future Edition events.
