Dive into the regional SUBMERGED events

by Stefanie Sieber

It’s getting exciting! The regional events of the FIRST LEGO League 2024/25 season are in full swing. Under the theme SUBMERGED, Explore teams are showcasing their creative models and team posters at inspiring exhibitions for reviewers. Meanwhile, Challenge teams are competing, presenting their research projects, and demonstrating their skills with autonomous robots. Dedicated volunteer referees and judges evaluate performances in categories such as robotics, research, and the FIRST Core Values.

The first events took place the weekend before last in Chur, Yverdon, and Fulda – and for many of you, your own event date is just around the corner! You can find all event locations, dates, information about participating teams, and competition results here: www.first-lego-league.org/en/locations. Get ready to dive in – whether at the regional Explore exhibitions or Challenge competitions. Admission is free, so bring your family and friends or bring the whole class to celebrate science and technology together! We wish you all great success and an amazing SUBMERGED season!

After the regional competitions, some Challenge teams will have the chance to advance further. Depending on the country and the number of registered regional teams, a qualification system determines placement in one of seven qualifying tournaments. The top teams from these events can qualify for the FIRST LEGO League Challenge Finale for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. You can find all the details about the qualification process and upcoming competitions here: www.first-lego-league.org/en/locations.
